Regarding Scotland weather, I read one time that the Inuit have thirty words for snow. Och, that’s nothing! We Scots have at least that many for RAIN. Discussion of the weather is de rigueur in the Scottish lexicon of good manners. It’s the “opening line” for any social situation.
